1teaspoondried Italian herbs (a blend of oregano and basil)
2tablespoonsfresh parsley, finely chopped
tablespoonsadditional melted butter for brushing on top
Instructions
Begin by preparing the yeast mixture: In a small bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit undisturbed for 5-10 minutes, or until it froths and bubbles—this indicates the yeast is active.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and kosher salt. Create a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour in the melted butter along with the frothy yeast mixture.
Stir the ingredients together until a shaggy dough begins to form. Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic.
Place the kneaded dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth or plastic wrap, and allow it to rise in a warm location for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
After the dough has risen, gently punch it down to deflate it, and knead it for an additional minute to ensure it is cohesive.
Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces, shaping each piece into a small, smooth ball.
In a separate bowl, thoroughly mix together the minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, and dried Italian herbs. Take each dough ball, dip it into the melted butter to coat it, then roll it in the garlic-Parmesan mixture, ensuring an even coating.
Arrange the coated dough balls in a greased bundt pan or a round cake pan, stacking them slightly for a visually appealing pull-apart effect.
Cover the pan lightly and allow the dough balls to rise for an additional 30 minutes.
While the rolls are rising, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Once the rolls have completed their second rise, place them in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until they are golden brown and puffed up beautifully.
Once baked, remove the rolls from the oven and immediately brush the tops generously with additional melted butter, then sprinkle with the chopped fresh parsley for added flavor and color.
Allow the rolls to cool for a few minutes before serving. Once cool enough to handle, pull apart the rolls and enjoy their deliciously buttery, garlicky goodness!
Notes
For best results, ensure the yeast is active before mixing.
