to tastefresh cilantro or finely chopped green onions (for garnish)
Instructions
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, freshly grated ginger, honey, sesame oil, garlic powder, rice vinegar, lime juice, and lime zest. Whisk until well combined. Place the salmon fillets in a resealable plastic bag or shallow glass dish, pour the marinade over the fillets, seal the bag or cover the dish, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, up to 2 hours for enhanced flavor.
Preheat your grill to a medium-high temperature, approximately 400°F (200°C). If using a grill basket, lightly oil it to prevent sticking.
Remove the salmon from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Season both sides with salt and freshly cracked black pepper. Place the salmon on the grill, skin-side down if applicable. Grill for about 5-6 minutes without moving, then gently flip using a spatula. Grill for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and has grill marks.
Carefully remove the salmon from the grill and let it rest for about 2 minutes to retain juiciness. Before serving, sprinkle with sesame seeds and garnish with fresh cilantro or finely chopped green onions.
Serve alongside fluffy steamed rice or a vibrant fresh salad for a delightful dining experience.
Notes
For enhanced flavor, let the salmon marinate for up to 2 hours.
