Rinse the edamame pods under cold running water to clean them, then drain thoroughly.
In a large skillet, pour in the extra virgin olive oil and place it over medium heat. Once the oil is shimmering but not smoking, add the minced garlic along with the red pepper flakes. Sauté for approximately 2 minutes, stirring frequently, until the garlic turns fragrant and lightly golden.
Carefully introduce the drained edamame pods into the skillet. Toss them well to coat each pod in the aromatic garlic-oil mixture.
Drizzle in the soy sauce and toasted sesame oil. Continue to stir-fry the edamame for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until everything is heated through.
Remove the skillet from the heat and immediately squeeze the fresh lime juice over the edamame. Give another gentle toss to combine everything.
Season with sea salt based on your taste preference. Sprinkle the chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds on top.
